We hope to use this blog as an informal catchall of ideas, inspirations and concrete plans for our wedding. We currently do not have a date set nor do we have a budget.
Our basic plan of action right now is in dream stage. REM sleep if you will. We plan on having a long engagement so that we can save up enough money to have a fabulous wedding that we will both enjoy and remember for the rest of our days (and hopefully you will as well!). This makes the most sense considering I am still in school in NY and David is working in KY. School will *fingers crossed* be over for me in June and then I will start my first year as a public school teacher (making huge bank, as you can imagine, j/k) and begin some serious wedding savings between the both of us.
That being said: We want your feed back and input! Dream with us!
Our basic plans
Guest Number: 150-200
Location: Louisville, KY
Indoor/Outdoor: We are leaning outdoor right now, garden style
Which probably means:
Season: Spring or Summer time, maybe early Fall
Flowers: Yes, lots. Poppy bouquet for bride if possible
Catering: Queen of Sheba
Location Specific: Waterfront park, Mellwood Art Center
Honeymoon: Iceland! Mayhap with a stop off in some other part of Europe as well.
David and I both will be contributing to this blog and we hope you all will follow as well as comment as we go on this planning journey. We have no clue what we are doing! Isn't it grand!
xoxo

When I see you next I have info on places. I actually have an amazing outdoor venue for you to look at.
ReplyDeleteExcellent! :D <3
ReplyDeleteWow, how exciting Becca. I have a few friends who are planning their weddings and I am helping them out a bit. I can forward you some information if you're interested. :) <3
ReplyDeleteSounds good to me, Rose! Thank you!! I welcome any and all info :D <3 <3 <3
ReplyDeleteBecca Congrats! Okay so if you're ever close to home theres a shop at bedfast that has decent prices on dresses. But what I really wanted to say is when I was looking at ideas for my wedding I came across a book lovers wedding. Instead of an arch they took two book shelves and filled it with their favorite books and knick knacks with little flower pots and they linked the shelves with a rope of flowers. It was in bright reds and yellows with soft blues. But it's a nice idea if you enjoy books. I'll find the link again if i can. Also if you're looking for outdoors I'd highly recommend setting up tents even if it isn't giving rain. I went to a funeral home and they let me have them for free for the day. Also outdoor you can pull on a picnic theme for food putting it in baskets or old washtubs for drinks. Try googling diy weddings the sites give you a lot of tips.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! We will definitely keep that in mind. I love any way I can incorporate books :D Also, tents are a definite. Nature doesn't play around :D or wait for our silly human celebrations.
